AMSTERDAM.... LAST DAY

At 10 am, We finally saw the Van Gogh Museum after queuing for only half an hour in dull weather with light rain.   Audio device made it easy to follow his art and life story.  Naturally it was crowded inside, also very over heated and very few places to rest the body during the two hours it took to see the work,
We decided to walk back to the Square!!!  Took two hours, but we saw quaint shops en route and naturally were careful to dodge the many bicycle riders.  Pretending to be a guest, I ducked into a hotel  to use the amenities, then into an Irish Pub where we had a much needed coffee.  Irish if course.

Rested all afternoon before having dinner at a nice restaurant two doors away.  It it now 9 pm.  We are propped in bed trying to find something interesting on TV?  No space cakes!!!  Need to keep in control.  Must be a sign of ageing. Tomorrow we take the train to Bruges.

We are beginning to feel on the road to recovery.  Not before time.
